This is the famous MukkuruNi Vinayagar of SivaPuri alias NipaSekhara ChathurVEdhaMangalam in Sivagangai District. This was formerly known as KaRpaga Vinayagar. It was the important deity of the Aruviyur Nagarathaar who are an original class of DhanaVaisiyas whohave been around for more than 2500 years.
